Multi-Tenant Architecture

Instant uses a multi-tenant design. When creating a new project, no VM is needed—just insert a few database rows in a multi-tenant instance. No compute or memory costs when inactive, and only a few kilobytes of extra RAM overhead when active.

Tech Stack

Instant built a multi-tenant database on top of Postgres and wrote a sync engine in Clojure. This architecture enables real-time, relational, multi-tenant backends.
